ELCD test

To preserve output and reach guaranteed service life of PV panels, regular diagnostics of panels current properties have to be performed, so developing issues can be fixed as soon as possible. From all measurements that can be taken, ELCD - Electroluminescence Crack Detection test can be highlighted. This test makes material flaws and manufacturing defects of solar cells visible. Following evaluation can determine if the flaw was caused during solar cell manufacture of manipulation. Unlike other methods, ELCD can reveal hidden solar cell defects effectivelly.

Microcracks, damage caused by manipulation and transportation, or unreliable panel supplier can be detected. It is a primary test to determine quality of mounted panels or to evaluate panels affected by natural calamity like a hailstorm.
